FAQ's

Q: Can I really leave this outside?

A: Yes you can!

This is the question that we are most frequently asked, especially with regards to our all fabric designs such as “Palosa”.

Q: Where do I get beans for the Wicka Frio Bean Bag Range?
A: Polystyrene beans are available directly from us.

We stock 5kg bags so that you don’t have to go looking for them.

Q: Will this synthetic rattan crack and split like others I’ve seen?
A: Absolutely NOT!

We only use high quality rattans that contain the right amount off anti pollutants and UV treatments. We guarantee you that our “ rattan” will not crack, split or fade.  There are many cheap imitations on the market, and we wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole!

Q: Do all your outdoor furniture products carry a warranty?
A: With the exception of the Teak Range - Yes.

All woven furniture products carry a 1 year limited warranty that covers faulty workmanship, the frame and colour fastness of the rattan.  All Sunbrella products carry a 5 year warranty for furniture fabrics as per below. All Sunproof products carry a one year warranty for colour fastness.  No Teak furniture carries a warranty.

Q: Are the sofa covers removable and washable?
A: Absolutely.

No matter which brand of fabric is on your sofa from Wicka, you can remove and wash them all.  Personally I would hand wash them gently, line dry them out of the sunlight and then put them back on slightly damp. This will ensure a perfect fit.  A little trick is to fold the cushion in the middle a little and slide into the cover, once inside push the ends down.

Q: Are there any treatments I should use on the fabric?
A: A little TLC goes along way.

Some people wash the covers a lot and some not. But it’s a good idea to give the fabric a little extra treatment from time to time. A term that most of us would know as “Scotchguarding”.  Your welcome to try out 303 Fabric Guard and it’s recommended by Sunbrella.

Q:  What about cleaning the rattan?

A: Super easy.

Use a very mild detergent, diluted in water. Something you would be happy to put your hands in.  With a soft brush , brush the rattan both ways ensuring you get into the grooves. Then use the hose and hose clean removing all the suds. But more on that in our Tech page. We’ll be more specific and let you know what individual rattan companies suggest.

Go to our Technical Information and Care page for more detailed information, and if you can’t find what you are looking for there, please send an email to enquiry@wickadesigns.com with your query.
